PACE 2010 Annual Conference

PACE 2010 Annual Conference

Professional Association for China’s Environment (PACE) is going to have its 2010 annual conference “PACE 2010: China’s Development, Environment and Natural Resources” on November 4-6, 2010, in Washington DC, USA. The topics will cover China’s environment- related science, technology, economics, policies, institutions as well as Sino-US cooperation. The sessions on institutions and Sino-US cooperation will be cosponsored by U.S. Chinese Association for Public Affairs and Union of Chinese-American Professional Organizations.

Recently China’s energy and environmental challenges come to a sharp focus as China continues to grow economically and expands its reach internationally. Will challenges in environment and natural resources become a bottleneck to China’s development? What policy and institutional changes are needed to address these challenges? How can advances in science and technology be effective solutions? In order to find answers to these questions, PACE 2010 will provide a platform for scholars, policy makers and practitioners interested in China’s environmental issues to exchange experiences and thoughts.

For those who are interested in speaking at the conference, please submit an abstract or a whole paper to chinaenvironment201 0@gmail.com  before June 30, 2010. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by July 31, 2010. Conference registration will start on July 1, 2010, either by sending an email to chinaenvironment201 0@gmail.com, or through PACE website www.pacechina. net.  Name, title, affiliation and email address are necessary information for registration. A small registration fee will be charged to cover meals and conference materials and will be announced later.
